The Forensic Therapist™ Seeks Quality Manuscripts

The official publication of the National Association of Forensic Counselors and the American College of Certified Forensic Counselors is seeking well written manuscripts for publication in all areas of counseling, psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. If you are interested in submitting a manuscript, please refer to the submission guidelines below. All papers submitted, that meet the submission guidelines, go through a double blind peer process review.

Guidelines for Submission of Papers for Publication

1. Manuscripts should be checked for content and style, i.e., correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, accuracy and consistency in the citation of figures, tables and references, stylistic uniformity of the entries in the reference section, etc. A charge may be assessed if we need to make any proof corrections.

2. Manuscripts should be approximately 4-6 typed pages, doubled spaced on one side of 8.5 x 11 paper using 1 inch on all sides. Authors MUST submit one hard copy AND one disk copy (including any illustrations and tables). We will accept disk copies saved in the following programs only: Microsoft Works, Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Adobe Acrobat Reader and rtf/txt files. You must submit one (1) hard copy along with your disk.

3. All manuscripts should include a title page consisting of the following: title of the article, author's name, credentials and running head. The running head is a one sentence description of the article and should be less than 80 characters.

4. An abstract is to be provided, preferably no longer than 180 characters.

5. Illustrations (photographs, drawings, diagrams, charts, etc.) are to be numbered in consecutive series. The captions for illustrations should be typed on the same page as the illustration.

6. Tables should be numbered and should be referred to by a number in the text. Each table should be typed on a separate sheet of paper. Center the title above the table, and type explanatory footnotes (preferably indicated by super-script, lower-case letters) below the table.

7. References and their text citations must be prepared as the reference style recommended in the 1995 Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Fourth Edition). List reference alphabetically at the end of the article and refer to them in the text by name and year in parenthesis. References should include (in this order): last names and initials of all authors, year published, title of article, name of publication, volume number and inclusive pages.

Please contact NAFC for more information on submitting a manuscript for review. Submissions not following the above guidelines will not be considered. Submissions are not returned. NAFC reserves the right to deny publication of any submission at its discretion.

Please read the following carefully:
